Welcome to Highland Food Safety Solutions. I founded this food safety consulting firm with an important mission: to help food manufacturers confidently navigate regulatory scrutiny, strengthen their food safety systems, and protect the integrity of their products. With over 20 years of food safety and manufacturing experience, primarily with the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) I bring strategic, professional insight into what regulators look for and how companies can thrive under that pressure. My goal is simple — to make food safety practical, effective, and a true advantage for your business.

My Story

For more than 20 years, I’ve served in progressive leadership roles with the food industry and with the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), including Frontline Supervisor (FLS) overseeing multiple facilities and teams, and as an Enforcement, Investigations, and Analysis Officer (EIAO) conducting in-depth food safety assessments across diverse USDA-regulated plants. My work has spanned small processors to large-scale operations, giving me a comprehensive view of the challenges companies face every day.

Before my regulatory career, I built my foundation in science through laboratory research and pharmaceutical work and advanced studies in micropropagation. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor and an MBA, combining scientific expertise with business strategy.

Throughout my career, I’ve developed deep familiarity with USDA & FDA regulations, GFSI standards (SQF & BRC), Lean, and Six Sigma principles. Now, I’m applying that knowledge through Highland Food Safety Solutions to help food production companies strengthen HACCP and sanitation programs, prepare for audits and inspections, respond to enforcement actions, and ultimately make food as safe as possible while protecting their businesses.
